According to the Belzoni Police Department, officers responded alongside deputies to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire in the area. When first responders arrived, they encountered a chaotic scene involving several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
Authorities confirmed that at least five people were injured during the incident. MaKayla Adams was found with critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency efforts.
