
Jeremiah Willey Obituary, Death; The Allenstown and Hooksett communities are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jeremiah Willey, 25, who was recovered from the Merrimack River following an extensive search operation.
According to the New Hampshire State Police, search efforts resumed around 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, after being paused overnight due to darkness. At approximately 9:15 a.m., members of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Dive Team located and recovered Willey’s body from the river.
Investigators believe Jeremiah Willey accidentally fell into the Merrimack River while on a railroad bridge near Riverside Street in Hooksett. A witness reported seeing him struggling in the water before he went under and did not resurface.
Multiple agencies assisted in the search effort, including the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, State Troopers, Marine Patrol units, and local Hooksett police and fire crews. Boats equipped with sonar technology and dive teams were deployed throughout the operation.
Authorities stated that the incident is not considered suspicious, though the investigation remains ongoing as officials work to confirm all circumstances surrounding the fall.
The sudden loss of Jeremiah Willey has left family, friends, and the wider community in deep sorrow. Loved ones are remembering him while leaning on one another for support during this difficult time.
