LYCOMING COUNTY, Pa. – A Long Island community is grieving the sudden and tragic loss of a 19-year-old man who died in a single-vehicle crash in rural Pennsylvania on Friday night.
The victim has been identified as Quinn Dowdell, 19, of Long Island, New York.
Fatal Crash on Rural Pennsylvania Roadway
According to the Lycoming County Coroner’s Office, the fatal crash occurred on Friday night along the 20000 block of State Route 287 in Pine Township.
Pennsylvania State Police responded to reports of a serious single-vehicle accident. Investigators say Quinn was traveling southbound on Route 287 when his vehicle left the roadway for reasons still under investigation.
Pronounced Dead at the Scene
After leaving the road, Quinn became trapped inside the vehicle and sustained severe traumatic injuries. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner confirmed the official cause of death was severe trauma related to the crash.
