The congregation and extended family of Warring Dove International Ministry are grieving the loss of a foundational leader, Apostle George Powers, who passed away early Monday morning after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
Apostle Powers, described by the ministry as a “spiritual lieutenant colonel,” served for decades as a senior elder. His leadership was marked by what the church called “unwavering dedication,” and his life was celebrated as a testament to faith, resilience, and profound spiritual guidance.
“His life was a testament to faith, resilience, and profound leadership,” a ministry statement read. “We are forever grateful for every deposit of wisdom, strength, and love he made into this ministry and into us as individuals. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.”
The ministry is asking for prayers for his wife, Apostle Susan Kay Powers, their children, grandchildren, and the entire church family, particularly their congregation in Pittsburg.
In its announcement, the ministry framed his passing not as an end, but as a transition. “Your earthly mission is complete; your heavenly celebration has begun,” the statement conveyed, adding, “We look forward to seeing you again, Lieutenant Colonel Apostle George!”
Apostle Powers was known for his deep, mentoring relationships and his steadfast presence through the ministry’s growth and challenges. His battle with Parkinson’s in recent years was witnessed by the congregation, which viewed his perseverance as an extension of his faithful witness.
The Warring Dove International Ministry has invited those who knew him to share condolences through a dedicated channel, which they will pass along to the family. Plans for memorial services to honor his legacy are currently being arranged, with details to be announced once finalized.
The ministry expressed profound gratitude for the community’s support during this time of loss, emphasizing the enduring impact of Apostle Powers’ spiritual and personal mentorship.
